The Russell City Fire Department was dispatched to a structure fire at 1428 North Franklin in Russell on February 8 at approximately 2:48 AM. According to a press release from Fire Chief Dylan Riedel, the fire department responded and found a fire in the northwest corner of the residence. With assistance from law enforcement and a neighbor, the fire was contained to the corner of the garage in the roof. A ventilation hole was cut to look for extension, but no fire was found. The property is considered to be a save with minimal damage to the garage and no damage to the living quarters of the house. The fire is being ruled accidental at this time.
