VIDEO: Fire crews were called to the area of Outer Lincoln and Highway 261 in Newburgh.
The call came in after 10 a.m. Wednesday.
It was the building that housed the Foundry Center for the Arts.
According to a post made on their Facebook page, everyone is safe. Newburgh Fire Department Captain David Shepard says the fire caused extensive damage.
The cause has yet to be determined.
Staff members with the Foundry Center for the Arts say they are heartbroken and shocked to see the building they’ve only worked out of for a few months go up in flames.
”We’ve put so much effort into this, like my heart and soul. I mean so many people have volunteered, so many people I mean I get on my hands and knees and scrub this floor in there,” The Foundry Art Center’s Visual Arts program manager Tabitha Taylor said.
