Four adults were able to escape after the house they were in caught fire Saturday night. The Evansville Fire Department responded to a fire on Taylor Avenue just before 9 p.m. On scene, they found the fire billowing out of a bedroom window. "They quickly made entry, located the fire and extinguished it containing it to the bedroom and hallway," said EFD Division Chief Mike Larson. "During the fire attack other firefighters made an aggressive interior search to look for those potentially inside and found no one." They had already fled the burning home before emergency crews arrived. EFD reports one had any injuries. It took about an hour to extinguish the fire. The first floor has extensive smoke damage and the second floor has light smoke damage.
