A Muncie man who broke into a house, then set it on fire has been sentenced to time already served in the Delaware County jail. Michael Bryan Reich, 28, had pleaded guilty to arson and residential entry, both Level 6 felonies carrying up to 30 months in prison. Authorities said Reich on April 12 forced his way into the house, in the 500 block of West Wilson Avenue, and set clothing he found inside on fire. A surveillance camera on the property showed the Muncie man enter the house. When he left about 20 minutes later, smoke was “seen coming from the bottom of the house and a window,” a city police investigator wrote. In Delaware Circuit Court 1 this week, Judge Marianne Vorhees imposed a 910-day sentence for the robbery conviction that was suspended except for the 150 days Reich had spent in jail, and credit for good behavior while incarcerated.
