The Essex Fire Protection District expressed gratitude towards several firefighting units and law enforcement agencies for their aid in containing a wildland fire that broke out in the finger lakes area Thursday.
The Essex Fire Protection District responded to the call for assistance and was joined by several firefighting units and law enforcement agencies from surrounding communities, including the South Wilmington Fire Department, Salina Township Fire Protection District, Braidwood Fire Department, Herscher Fire, Braceville Fire Protection District, Reddick Fire Department, and Kankakee County Police. “Fighting Wildland/brush fires in the Finger Lakes is very challenging, and we are grateful for all those that showed up to help,” said the Essex Fire Protection District in a statement. “We wanted to thank everyone for the assistance with our wildland fire today.”
