The Charleston Fire Department responded to an early morning fire on Thursday.
Around 2:15 a.m. crews responded to the 800 block of 10th St. in Charleston for a report of a structure fire.
Upon arrival, crews found a two-story home with multiple apartments. Fire and smoke were coming from the rear apartment.
The building had four apartments. Three were occupied at the time of the fire and all three occupants, including a dog, were able to escape without injury.
Crews were on the scene until around 8:00 a.m.
The fire appears to have started in the kitchen area of the rear apartment. The structure sustained heavy fire, smoke, and water damage.
The four residents of the four different apartments have been displaced due to the extent of the damage.
The fire is currently under investigation.
