VIDEO: Chicago Fire Department battles extra-alarm warehouse fire on West Side

The Chicago Fire Department battled an extra-alarm fire in a West Side warehouse Tuesday morning. The fire was in a one-story commercial building in the 4500-block of West Fulton Street. Chopper 7HD flew above the scene, where flames could be seen pouring through the roof of the warehouse. The fire raged for more than an hour and around 7:45 a.m., CFD said it had been struck. More than 100 firefighters responded to the fire. "Because of the size and the length of the building we had to escalate the alarm for more manpower," Assistant Deputy Fire Commissioner Donald Walker said. The building sustained major damage, including the collapse of the roof. Assistant Deputy Fire Commissioner Walker said the building housed a masonry business There are no reports of any injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
