One Person Dies in Minooka House Fire

One person has died in a house fire that occurred in the 4600 block of Shady Oaks Road in Minooka around eight last night. According to police dispatch, the fire was extinguished in less than 30 minutes. Grundy County Coroner John Callahan said Doit Ross, 82, of Minooka was transported to the Morris Hospital where he passed away shortly after 10:00 pm. The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office was called to the scene as the incident remains under investigation. The Minooka Fire Department was assisted by Morris, Braceville and several other agencies at the scene.
