Investigations continue into two Danville fires that occurred on Saturday (September 4, 2021). One of them destroyed a home at 11 South Virginia Street and sent a person to the hospital after being rescued by Danville Firefighters and Police. The other damaged a wall leaving minor damage to a home at 1225 Grant Street. No one was hurt in that fire Saturday evening. Firefighters received the alarm for the blaze at 11 South Virginia Street shortly after midnight Saturday morning. The call said a person was possibly trapped inside. When firefighters arrived on the scene they were told by a witness that there was an adult still inside. There were heavy flames coming from the structure as firefighters went inside and located the person. The victim was rescued by removing them out a window with assistance from Danville Police. The condition of the person rescued was unavailable.
