Police, Firefighters, and Paramedics Respond to Natural Gas Leak In Mount Prospect

Police, firefighters, and paramedics from Mount Prospect responded about 8:10 a.m. Wednesday, July 14, 2021 to a report of a natural gas odor in the block of 100 North Emerson Street in Mount Prospect. Fire crews on arrival discovered a leak from a gas main by about 8:17 a.m., and extra crews were assigned to assist with possible ventilation, possible evacuations, and to stand by. A contractor hit a gas main at a construction project, and Nicor was on the scene immediately. Wind was from the Southwest at 7 MPH at 7:51 a.m. according to the National Weather Service office at O’Hare International Airport.
