Three Dogs Reportedly Killed in Afternoon Structure Fire in Lewiston

On Thursday, January 19, 2023 at approximately 2:45 p.m., Lewiston Fire and Clearwater Paper Fire units were dispatched to a structure fire at 3522 18th Street in Lewiston, ID. According to a press release from the Lewiston Fire Department, first arriving units found smoke coming from the single-story structure. Crews were able to extinguish the fire after taking an offensive attack. Sadly, three dogs perished in the fire. No other occupants were in the residence at the time of the fire. Damage to the residence was estimated at $50,000. There were no civilian or firefighter injuries. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Lewiston Fire responded with 3 engines, 3 medic units, and 2 chief vehicles and 17 firefighters. Clearwater Paper Fire also responded with a Special Response vehicle with 2 personnel.
