Orofino Woman Escapes With Minor Injuries After Car Crashes 100 Feet Down Steep Embankment

PHOTO: On Monday, May 16 at approximately 2:05 p.m., Clearwater County Dispatch received a report of a vehicle that had went off a steep embankment near milepost 5.3 on Dent Bridge Road. According to the Clearwater County Sheriff's Office, the driver, a 74-year-old woman from Orofino, reported that she didn't know how far over the bank she was and was complaining of a head injury. After crews arrived on scene, the driver was safely extracted from the vehicle, which was located approximately 100 feet down a steep embankment nosed down leaning against a tree. The driver was extracted from the vehicle by the Orofino Fire Department and transported by ambulance to Clearwater Valley Hospital with minor injuries. The crash is still under investigation.
