VIDEO: A well-known surfer and county lifeguard was killed in an apparent shark attack on Oahu’s North Shore on Sunday.
Honolulu Ocean Safety confirms the victim was City and County of Honolulu Ocean Safety lifeguard Tamayo Perry. Perry, 49, began his career with Ocean Safety in July 2016 and was a North Shore lifeguard.
Crews with Honolulu Ocean Safety, Honolulu Fire Department, and Honolulu Emergency Medical Services were all called out to a beach in Kahuku around 1 p.m. on a report of a body being found.
