Kauai Firefighters responded to a building fire at the Old Plantation Company Sugar Mill in Lihue on Friday, according to Kauai Fire Department officials. Officials say fire crews were sent out to the scene near Kaumuali’i Highway at about 12:30 p.m. Friday. Fire officials say they found a building fully engulfed in flames. KFD was able to extinguish a fire in less than an hour. Officials say the damage is estimated to be $1,500. A cause is under investigation.
