Red Cross assists in Aiea house fire that leaves 6 displaced

Six people are displaced after a house fire occurred in Aiea early Sunday morning, July 21, 2024. On Sunday at approximately 3:21 a.m. the Honolulu Fire Department (HFD) responded to a building fire near 98-873 Hapuu St. with crews arriving on scene by 3:28 a.m. Once crews arrived on the scene they spotted smoke and flames fully engulfing a one-level single family home. Firefighters commenced a fire attack with multiple water supplies and brought the fire under control at 4:15 a.m. A primary and secondary search of the home was completed to confirm that no one was inside of the home during the fire. The fire was fully extinguished at 4:54 a.m. and the American Red Cross of Hawaii was contacted to assist with the displacement of six people ranging from ages 14 to 79.
