Following a car crash in the McCully area, a 34-year-old man dies.
On Saturday, February 10, at around 10:30 p.m., a car crash occurred in the intersection of Kapiolani Blvd and Waiaka Road.
The Honolulu Police Department (HPD), Traffic Division, and Vehicular Homicide Section, reported that a 17-year-old man was driving westbound on Kapiolani Blvd with three passengers when he struck a 34-year-old man on a Surron electric vehicle.
During the collision, the 34-year-old man was turning left from Waiaka Road against a red light and was ejected from his vehicle onto the road. Officials report that he was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) took the 34-year-old man to a nearby hospital where he was reported to be in critical condition.
