Two swimmers were taken to hospitals Wednesday after firefighters located them 20 feet below the surface of the water, according to Guam Fire Department spokesman Lt. Nick Garrido.
At 12:06 p.m., the firefighters received a report of two distressed swimmers near the Hagatña treatment plant.
Fire department rescue personnel searched the area and found both of the swimmers in the water.
One was transported to Naval Hospital Guam, and the other was taken to Guam Memorial Hospital.
Paramedics conducted CPR en route to both facilities, Garrido said.
