Vehicle catches fire after pole collision in Dededo, CPR performed on driver

PHOTOS: Guam Fire Department rescue units performed CPR on a male individual en route to Guam Regional Medical City after the vehicle he was operating crashed into a concrete utility pole on Route 1 near Wusstig Road in Dededo. According to a statement issued by GFD spokesman Firefighter Nick Garrido, rescue units responded to the scene at 3:14 a.m. Sunday and were informed on the way to the collision site that the vehicle was on fire. Police officers from the Guam Police Department also responded to the scene and were able to remove the male driver, the lone occupant of the vehicle. CPR was initiated en route to GRMC. The man’s identity has not been released.
