The Guam Fire Department confirms that two more firefighters assigned to the Astumbo Fire Station have tested positive for COVID-19. The two who had been cohort quarantining since Friday, started to feel symptoms, and were tested Tuesday morning. As we reported on Monday, a firefighter from Inarajan temporarily assigned to the northern fire station had tested positive after falling ill at work that Friday afternoon. All three are currently at home isolation. The two are part of the COVID transport unit and it is not clear if they contracted the virus from the patient or the first firefighter. Out of abundance of caution, the remaining personnel have been quarantined until they have been tested. Pending results, an alternate crew has been assigned to ensure the continuance of response operations. Also a thorough decontamination was done of all rooms and common areas at the station.
