PHOTO: Eight Wrens families comprising 22 individuals are without homes after a fire consumed nearly all of building B in Pine Valley Apartments on Tuesday. While firefighters doused the final remaining flames, Bill Key, the apartment complex owner and manager, walked the property, surveying the damage and talking to families. “It looks like the fire started here in Apartment B3,” Key said. “We really don’t know anything yet, but we can be thankful that everyone is accounted for and no one is hurt. There were eight families here. We’ve been able to account for all of them and so it’s just property damage, no loss of life. We can replace the property.” In many of the apartments, only children were home, out of school for fall break while their parents were at work when the fire broke out sometime after 11 a.m.
