The new complex will feature a 2,918-square-foot police precinct with a secure lobby, a conference room, two offices, an area for six cubicles and a breakroom; Station No. 6, an 8,639-square-foot, three-bay fire station, with sleeping quarters for eight, a full kitchen with a pantry, laundry, a dining room, fitness room, shift office and lobby; and multi-purpose sports fields that include two soccer/lacrosse fields, sports field lighting, a concession and restroom building, 8-foot walking paths and 226 parking spaces.
Holmes said he was appreciative of the work done by citizens voting for SPLOST V and allowing it to fund the project. He also thanked county personnel and the construction and architect companies for their involvement.
