Man killed in Washington County house fire identified

One person is dead after a house caught fire in Sandersville Saturday night. According to a post on the Washington County Sheriff's Office Facebook page, Sandersville Police and Fire were called out to the scene around 9 p.m. Washington County Sheriff Joel Cochran says 62-year-old Bobby McDonald was killed in the fire on Sunhill Road in Sandersville. Deputies assisted in blocking traffic in the area and the fire was put out around 11 p.m. A paramedic tried to pull the victim from the burning house and received 1st degree burns and suffered from some smoke inhalation, according to Cochran. He was treated and released from the ER. State fire marshals were called in to investigate, the cause has not been determined.
