A family is displaced after a massive fire broke out and destroyed a Snellville home.
The home is considered a “total loss” after it was extensively damaged by the blaze, according to fire department spokesman Lt. Justin Wilson. Firefighters were sent to a home in the 1800 block of Highpoint Road just after 10 p.m. after a neighbor called 911 and reported the home was in flames, according to Wilson. Four people were inside the house when the fire started, he said.Heavy flames had taken over the right side of the one-story house, Wilson said. “Due to high winds, the flames were quickly spreading through the majority of the home as firefighters rapidly deployed fire attack hose lines to combat the blaze,” Wilson said.
