Hillsborough Fire Rescue put out a massive fire at a scrap metal yard in Tampa Saturday afternoon. Clouds of smoke could be seen for miles from the blaze. Just before 3 p.m., fire crews responded to the 2nd-alarm fire at Fedca Scrap Recycling at N. 56th Street and E. Hanna Avenue. There, firefighters were met with billowing smoke from the area. Firefighters were able to gain control of the flames in an hour using elevated and ground attack with water and foam, Hillsborough Fire Rescue said in a tweet. There were no injuries reported. A spokesperson for Hillsborough Fire Rescue said there has been one other fire at the scrap yard before. At this time, the cause of the fire is under investigation.
