PHOTO: A fire early Tuesday caused about $250,000 damage at Thessalonia Baptist Church in Selbyville, according to the Delaware State Fire Marshal's Office. Members of the Selbyville Volunteer Fire Company responded to the scene on Clendaniel Avenue shortly before 12:30 a.m., and were met by a heavily-involved fire. Mutual aid fire companies also assisted at the scene. An investigation determined that the fire began in the attic space of the structure and was caused by an unspecified electrical malfunction. The building apparently did not have an alarm system or automatic sprinkler system. No injuries were reported.
