Crews extinguished a structure fire that broke out at a Shelton home Sunday night, according to fire officials.
In a news release, fire officials said crews were called to a house fire on Belle Lane just before 9:30 p.m., where heavy fire was visible from the back of an attached garage that appeared to be mostly exterior.
Crews confirmed the residents had safely evacuated and that everyone was out of the home, then deployed a single hose line to the back of the house and began extinguishing the fire, officials said.
Additional crews entered the attic above the garage and extinguished the fire that had extended to the area, then confirmed there was no extension to the living portion of the house and opened windows to evacuate the minor smoke condition, officials said.
