At 4:13 p.m. on Sunday, fire crews responded to a fire in the area of Colorado Avenue.
On-scene command called for a second alarm, to get additional crews. To ensure continuous coverage, Fairfield and Stratford Fire Departments provided mutual aid to cover firehouses in Bridgeport while crews battled the blaze.
The investigation into the cause of the fire will be led by the Fire Marshal’s Office.
All occupants were able to evacuate the home; however, Red Cross stepped in to offer shelter and assistance to the 8 to 10 individuals displaced by the fire.
