A house fire, likely the result of Tuesday's nor'easter, was quickly extinguished overnight due to the fast actions of a neighbor and firefighters. A person reported about 10 p.m. Tuesday that their neighbor's house was on fire in the 100 block of Canterbury Lane, according to Fairfield Fire Department Deputy Chief Kyran Dunn. Firefighters arrived to find a large blaze on one side of the house. "Our guys were able to knock it down extremely quickly," Dunn said. "The homeowners didn't lose their house and were able to go back in their house afterward." A power line between the street and the home had shorted, according to Dunn, starting a fire where the line connected to the house. "The storm in general was thought to have exacerbated some sort of issue," he said.
