Firefighters are continuing to fight the flames at a home in West Hartford on Wednesday.
Dispatchers received a call shortly before 6:30 a.m. reporting a home on fire in the 700 block of Prospect Avenue.
Two minutes later, a paramedic arrived to the scene and reported seeing fire coming out of the front windows of the home, fire officials said.
At that same time, fire officials said dispatchers received additional reports stating that the home was unoccupied.
A few minutes later, firefighters said they began stretching hoses to fight the flames from the interior of the home and began to search for anyone inside, even though it was reportedly unoccupied.
Inside the home, there were heavy fire conditions and structural instability with holes in the floor and potentially dangerous situations to continue internal firefighting efforts, according to fire officials.
