VIDEO: CSFD was offered over 1,000 doses of Narcan as a part of the Naloxone Bulk Purchase Fund Opportunity. On Monday, CSFD was granted over 1,000 doses of Narcan to disperse in most at-risk areas. This is a part of CSFD’s “Leave Behind Project” in hopes of saving lives. They also plan to supply Narcan to Community Medicine Units, Community and Public Health Units and American Medical Response to distribute as needed. CSFD said they plan to also leave a box with two doses of Narcan along with an instruction sheet at any locations deemed high-risk areas. They hope to make Narcan readily available in areas where it is needed most, especially as 94% of drug-related deaths occur before transport to the hospital, according to the El Paso County Coroner’s Annual Report.
