A 2-alarm fire in Monument on Colonial Park Drive, close to Roller Coaster Road, left one victim needing treatment for smoke inhalation Saturday, according to fire officials. Andy Kovacs, a Fire Chief, with the Tri-Lakes Monument Fire Protection District, says early Saturday morning, the Fire District received a call about a house fire. Once they arrived, fire officials say there was one male victim outside the two-storyhome. Kovacs adds that it's believed the victim was transported to Memorial Hospital for smoke inhalation treatment via medical helicopter. The status of his condition is unknown at this time.
