VIDEO: A two-alarm warehouse fire kept firefighters busy Tuesday evening in Denver’s River North (RiNo) neighborhood. Thick smoke filled the air, making it difficult to breathe.
The fire was so fierce, crews could not fight it from inside the structure. Ladder trucks were used to dump water on the raging blaze along Walnut Street between 33rd and 34th streets.
“The fire was well involved when our crews arrived on scene and they put up a very strong fight,” said Denver Fire Department spokesperson Greg Pixley.
Firefighters were called to the warehouse just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday. Wind pushed thick smoke through the RiNo neighborhood on a relatively warm February evening.
“We have concerns that the wind might have pushed and accelerated the fire,” Pixley said.
