No one was injured in a structure fire in the 21000 block of County Road 52 Friday, according to a Facebook post from the Sterling Fire Department.
The SFD reported that crews responded, with aid from the Peetz Fire Department and Logan County Sheriff’s Office, to the fire at 2:30 a.m. They found a single story home with a basement “heavily involved with fire.”
Chief Lavon Ritter, who was first on scene, found heavy fire on both the main floor and in the basement. The firefighters used defensive attack methods to quickly knock out the fire, but most of the structure had collapsed into the basement.
The cause of the fire is under investigation. Nine units responded to the fire.
