VIDEO: The Bear Fire continues forcing evacuations in Sierra County on Wednesday. The wildfire was reported around 2 p.m. Monday off Bear Valley Road south of the Sierra Brooks community, according to the U.S. Forest Service for the Tahoe National Forest. Cal Fire's incident page shows the fire has grown to 3,000 acres and is 0% contained as of Wednesday. According to the National Forest Service, the warming temperatures, dry fuel conditions and strong winds intensified fire behavior. Evacuation orders were expanded Tuesday evening to include SIE-E058 and SIE-E059. According to an outage map from Liberty Utilities, about 230 customers near Sierra Brooks are without power. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
