A firefighter with the Victorville Fire Department was treated for injuries he sustained while battling a downtown structure fire. The City of Victorville reported that at 6:35 a.m. on Monday, the VFD was dispatched to a structure fire on D Street near Second Street. The fire was at a mobile home park between Second and Third streets and across from the San Bernardino County Transportation Authority’s Park & Ride. Firefighters arrived to find two mobile homes well involved with multiple exposures. They put out the fire and protected neighboring homes. While fighting the blaze, a firefighter suffered burns to both of his hands. He was treated at the scene by VFD paramedics and transported by American Medical Response to a local burn center, according to city spokeswoman Sue Jones.
