VIDEO: A mobile home and several trailers have been destroyed in a fire in the Lakehead area on Tuesday morning.
According to the CAL FIRE Shasta-Trinity Unit (SHU), before 7 a.m. on October 19, their units were dispatched to Big Oak Lane for a structure fire.
CAL FIRE SHU says a double-wide mobile home and several trailers have been destroyed in the fire. CAL FIRE also said the fire spread to 1/10-acre of vegetation before they were able to extinguish it. Fire Captain and Specialist Darren Stewart was at the scene of the fire and said there were eight people at the residence, but no one was injured during the incident. He said the cause of the fire remains under investigation, but they know the fire started in the kitchen area of the double-wide mobile home.
Stewart said they did have to deal with challenges such as lack of water.
