VIDEO: Hundreds of first responders from departments and agencies all across the Valley attended the freshman football game at Perry High School Wednesday evening. They were there to support Scott Leatham and his son during his first football game. Scott, a beloved Tempe fire captain, just spent the last month in the hospital and continues to battle in his fight with cancer. “We had always heard how strong the fire community was and how they show up for their own,” said Shalyn Anderson, Scott’s sister-in-law. “To see that in action, they have been everything supporting him.” “About a month ago when Scott was in the hospital, the goal was to hopefully have Scott be able to see his son’s first football game,” Tempe Fire Captain Doug Myers said.
