Starting July 1, the Green Valley Fire District will become the fire department for people living in the northern part of Sahuarita. Green Valley fire trucks are already at the old Metro Rural Fire Station in Sahuarita. Up until now, some homeowners living in north Sahuarita either had to pay Rural Metro Fire for fire services - separate from their HOA fees - others did not. That's changing with the takeover since not many northern Sahuarita homeowners paid for the fire services. Now everyone will have to pay Green Valley Fire through property taxes. News 4 Tucson asked an official if north Sahuarita homeowners will see an increase in how much they'll have to pay for fire services.
