VIDEO: More than a dozen people are left displaced after a fire quickly spread to multiple units at a Glendale apartment complex on Sunday morning.
Around 10 a.m., Glendale firefighters were called to fight the flames at the Hidden Village Apartments near 59th and Olive avenues. When crews arrived, they found the fire started on the first floor and was spreading to the second floor. However, once the flames spread to the second, they quickly reached the attic space.
Crews aggressively fought the flames in the extreme heat and were able to gain control. Two units were left heavily damaged, while others sustained water damage. In total, six units were affected by the fast-moving fire. Glendale Fire says nine adults and seven children are displaced at this time, but the Red Cross is helping them find temporary shelter.
