Firefighters say a toddler is in extremely critical condition after falling into a backyard swimming pool at a Phoenix home on Wednesday evening. Bystanders were performing CPR on the 3-year-old boy when firefighters arrived at the house near 19th Avenue and Bell Road. Phoenix Fire Capt. Scott Douglas says the toddler was not breathing and didn't have a heartbeat, and was taken to the hospital. Aerials video shows there is a fence around the pool. Douglas didn't say how the boy got into the pool area. No word on who found him or how long he was in the water. An investigation is underway.
