The Eloy Fire District held its annual awards banquet honoring many of its employees for the great job they've done. The Firefighter of the Year Medal was awarded to Garrison Cobb. The honor goes to an individual who exhibits values and qualities well above the standard. Cobb was lauded as invaluable to the operations and culture of Eloy Fire. "His positive attitude and work ethic are infectious to those around him and he regularly inspires laughs and smiles from his crew," the commendation said. Cobb embodies the statement of the operations commander which is, "You can teach a skill, but you can't teach a good heart."
