One person is dead following an early Tuesday morning apartment fire in west Little Rock.
According to the Little Rock Fire Department, they responded to a fire at the Westside Creek apartments on Sam Peck Road shortly after 6:30 a.m.
Once on the scene, fire officials said they found a couch on fire.
Firefighters put the fire out then when into the bedroom where they discovered a non-responsive woman, the fire department said.
Fire officials said they took the woman to Baptist Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 7:40 a.m.
Because there were no witnesses to the fire, the Little Rock Police Department is conducting an investigation. On Nov. 7, police responded to the same apartment complex after an adult male was killed.
