The Siloam Springs Fire Department is always ready for flash flooding in Benton County.
The department's rescue boat is fully staffed and filled with equipment.
"The boat stays ready," Chief Jordan Jackson of the Siloam Springs Fire Department said. "It's ready to respond for any emergency that the rain may give us."
The department will be on high alert over the next several days and will place barriers to keep people out of flooded zones.
“Don't drive around the barriers, and we'll do our best to be ahead of it and keep you keep people from even having to think about the danger," Jackson said.
Certain road types can flood faster than others.
“You've got steep areas and low areas and you've got roads and typically underpasses that become issues for vehicles," Jackson said.
