A Miller County man remains in a Shreveport hospital following an early morning blaze. Crews on the scene say the call came in at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 28 to a home on Alford Street. Cerance Weaver, a firefighter, said the mobile home was fully involved, with flames shooting out from wherever they could. “We got out and started putting water on the fire,” Weaver said. “Battling with the heat has been pretty tough.” Weaver added extinguishing the flames was challenging for the smaller crew as well. The injured man was identified as Walker Ogden. Fire investigators say Ogden was trapped inside the mobile home and made his way out by jumping through a window. Neighbors were able to move him to safety. Several volunteer fire departments in Miller County answered the alarm this morning. Now, it’s up to the fire marshal to try and determine the cause of this blaze.
