Fire Chief: Two dead in Jonesboro house fire

Two people died Friday in a house fire on Huntington Avenue in Jonesboro, according to Fire Chief Kevin Miller. Miller said an adult and a child were killed in the house fire. Jonesboro police, firefighters and paramedics responded to the scene of a house fire on Huntington Avenue Friday afternoon. Officers got a call about the fire around 3:30 p.m. in the 800 block of West Huntington Avenue. Authorities said they worked to get people out of the house as the fire spread. According to the Jonesboro Fire Department, authorities were able to pull four people from the home and two people, including a child, were taken to the hospital. Witnesses also said they saw smoke, then a huge plume of smoke in the area before the fire.
