A fire that swept through an apartment Tuesday morning is under investigation. The Jonesboro Fire Department was called to the 800-block of West Monroe Avenue shortly before 8:30 a.m. Nov. 16 regarding a “fully-involved” fire at an apartment complex. The JFD said later in a news release shared online that two engines, two trucks, and two battalions responded. When the first engine arrived they saw “heavy fire showing through the roof of a single-story duplex-style residence at the rear of the property.” After making sure everyone was safely out, a JFD official told our reporter they were able to contain the fire to one unit and quickly doused the flames. No one was hurt. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
