New fire truck for Gadsden firefighters

PHOTOS: A shiny new piece of equipment for Gadsden firefighters. Monday, a dedication ceremony was held for the new ladder truck which will go into service at Station 4 in Alabama City. It replaces a 17-year-old truck that will be moved into reserve. Mayor Craig Ford and the city council invested more than $1 million in the new truck. During the ceremony, firefighters, friends, family and community members joined to form a bucket brigade to move a bucket of water from the old fire truck to the new truck, symbolizing the transfer of duty.
