A fire started at the Battle House Renaissance Mobile Hotel & Spa during roof repairs, News 5 has learned. Officials with the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department said their firefighters were called to the hotel around 2 p.m. Friday. Workers at the hotel reported a small fire on the terrace of the eighth floor at the front of the building. Smoke was spread through the building due to an elevator shaft, according to officials. Firefighters arrived and found nothing visible outside, but smoke could be seen in the lobby. Crews entered the hotel to ensure the fire was extinguished. They went to the terrace and found a fire extinguisher had already been used to put it out. No one was injured during the incident.
