A woman is in custody after allegedly stealing an ambulance from Grandview Medical Hospital and leading law enforcement on a short chase, according to the Shelby County Sheriff's Office. The office said its dispatch received a call Wednesday evening from Shoals Ambulance reporting an ambulance was stolen from the hospital and was traveling eastbound along Highway 280. The sheriff's office said deputies made contact with the ambulance near the Walgreens off of Doug Baker Boulevard. A short pursuit ensued and ended at Cahaba Valley Road. The woman was taken into custody. There is no information on any possible charges against the suspect.
