A fire erupted Monday afternoon at Perry’s Steakhouse and Grille in the Colonnade. Birmingham and Rocky Ridge firefighters responded mid-afternoon to the restaurant at #4 Perimeter Park South, said Birmingham Fire and Rescue Service Battalion Chief Jackie Hicks. The fire started inside of the building and made it way to the roof. The fire was quickly extinguished. Everyone safely evacuated and no injuries were reported. The extent of damage wasn’t immediately known, but firefighters said it didn’t appear to be major. The restaurant will be closed at least for Monday night. Hicks said health department officials will have to inspect before Perry’s reopens. The cause of the blaze has not yet been determined.
